Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Japan Job Match mobile application or website (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

2. Description of Services

Japan Job Match provides a platform for job seekers to discover career opportunities in Japan, complete career assessments, manage professional profiles, and connect with career coaching consultants. We do not guarantee job placement, visa approval, or specific career outcomes.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information in your profile or documents
• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or consultants
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce any part of the Services without written permission
• Use the Services to transmit spam, malware, or any harmful content
• Impersonate any person or entity

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload or submit to the Services, including your profile information, documents, and photos. By submitting content, you grant Japan Job Match a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Services. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Services — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, assessment tools, and software — are the exclusive property of Japan Job Match and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

7. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Japan Job Match offers in-app purchases, including consumable items and auto-renewing subscriptions, through Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). By purchasing a subscription or consumable item, you agree to the following terms:

Subscriptions

• Subscription pricing and billing period are displayed on the purchase screen before you confirm your purchase.
• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price shown at purchase (or as updated with notice).
• Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off in your device Account Settings after purchase:
  • iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
• Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period.

Free Trials & Introductory Offers

• When a free trial or introductory offer is available, the duration, included content, and the price you will be charged after the trial ends are displayed before you subscribe.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• To avoid being charged, you must cancel before the trial ends via your device Account Settings (see above).

Consumable Purchases

• Consumable in-app purchases (e.g., credits or one-time session unlocks) are charged once and are not transferable, refundable, or exchangeable for cash.
• Consumables are tied to your account and are not restored when reinstalling the app.

Refund Policy

• All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests must be submitted directly to the platform from which you purchased:
  • Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Google Play: Google Play Help → Request a refund
• Japan Job Match does not process refunds directly and has no control over Apple's or Google's refund decisions.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be notified of price changes in advance via the app or email. Continued subscription after the effective date of a price change constitutes your acceptance of the new price.

8. Consultation Services

Career coaching consultations facilitated through the platform are provided by independent consultants. Japan Job Match serves as a platform connecting users and consultants and is not responsible for the advice, outcomes, or conduct of individual consultants. Consultation fees, if applicable, are handled directly between the user and the consultant via third-party payment providers.

8a. Web Consultation Payments (Website)

Consultation bookings made through our website (japanjobmatch.com) are processed via Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By completing a purchase on our website, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Payment Processing & Security

• All web payments are processed securely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Japan Job Match does not collect, see, or store your payment card number or billing address.
• Accepted payment methods on our website include: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB.
• All transactions are conducted over HTTPS with TLS encryption.

Cancellation Policy

• You may cancel a booked consultation session at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time to receive a full refund.
• Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable, as the consultant slot has been reserved.
• To cancel a session, contact us at anastasiavydiuk@gmail.com with your booking reference.

Refund Policy (Web / Stripe Payments)

• Unlike mobile in-app purchases (which are handled by Apple or Google), refunds for website purchases processed via Stripe are handled directly by Japan Job Match.
• To request a refund, email anastasiavydiuk@gmail.com within 7 days of your purchase date, providing your order details and reason for the request.
• Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer.
• Refunds will not be issued for sessions that have already taken place, or for cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled session (see Cancellation Policy above).

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings screen in the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we determine that you have violated these Terms, without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately, and we will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Japan Job Match shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Services, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of employment opportunities, or loss of business. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at info@japanjobmatch.com. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration or, where required by law, through applicable courts.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
